Being a Caregiver
Did You Know?*
- 61% of caregivers are women
- 13% of caregivers are aged 65+ years
- 59% of caregivers have jobs in addition to caring for another person
As a caregiver, it's important to remember that you're not alone. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) reports that there are 44 million Americans who provide unpaid care to an elderly or disabled person 18 years or older.
Caring for another person - a friend, a loved one, a patient - is rewarding, but it's also a full-time job. At Medi-CareFirst, we realize that being a caregiver can be overwhelming at times. To help, we've put together some resources on planning care, as well as information to make sure you remember to care for yourself, too.
