Medi-CareFirst Employer-Sponsored PlansAdvantageBlue PFFSLooking for a retiree health plan that reduces costs, while still offering a comprehensive benefit package that your retirees will value? Medi-CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield now offers new Medicare Advantage Private Fee-for-Service plans that allow you to select a retiree benefit program that’s just right for your company and your company’s budget. Consider that:
What Is Medicare Advantage Private Fee-for-Service?Medicare Advantage is a federal health program run by private insurers that contract with Medicare. These plans replace the benefits under original Medicare Part A (hospital services) and Part B (physician services), at a minimum. AdvantageBlue typically offers richer benefits than original Medicare at a lower cost. As a private fee-for-service plan, AdvantageBlue PFFS members can choose any healthcare provider nationwide who accepts Medicare patients and agrees to Medi-CareFirst’s Provider Terms and Conditions of payment. So, unlike other types of Medicare Advantage plans, AdvantageBlue PFFS does not feature a provider network. Through AdvantageBlue PFFS, the vast majority of providers are paid according to the Medicare fee schedule.
