Does My Pharmacy Participate?
There are two ways to search for a pharmacy:
- Search online with the pharmacy locator
- Download a printable version of our Pharmacy Directory (817 KB, 94 pgs.)

Our Networks
If you travel, you are very likely to find a participating pharmacy near you. Medi-CareFirst's in-network pharmacies include:
- 1,400 pharmacies in its service area of Maryland, the District of Columbia and Delaware
- More than 60,000 pharmacies nation-wide
- Most major chains
- Retail, home infusion, and long-term care pharmacies
Out-of-Network Pharmacies
Generally, we only cover drugs filled at an out-of-network pharmacy in limited, non-routine circumstances when a network pharmacy is not available.
- If you are traveling within the United States and become ill, lose, or run out of your prescription drugs, the Medi-CareFirst Part D plan will cover prescriptions filled at an out-of-network pharmacy.
- You will have to pay the full cost (rather than paying just your copay) when your prescription is filled and will need to submit a claim form (62 KB, 2 pgs.)
when you return home. - You may be responsible for paying the difference between what we would pay for a prescription filled at an in-network pharmacy and what the out-of-network pharmacy charged for your prescription.
For More Information
Call Claims Customer Service at 1-800-693-1434 (TTY: 1-800-693-0765), 24 hours a day/7 days a week to find out if there is a network pharmacy in the area where you are traveling. If there are no network pharmacies in that area, Customer Service may be able to make arrangements for you to get your prescriptions from an out-of-network pharmacy.
