What Medigap Covers

There are 11 standardized Medigap plans including one high-deductible standardized plan. Each of the 11 plans has specific benefits that are defined by federal law. Because the law standardizes all Medigap plans, the benefits of a particular plan (Medigap Plan A, for example) do not vary from insurance carrier to insurance carrier.

What does vary are:

  • The cost of the plan(s), and
  • The number of plans a carrier offers.
    • All carriers must offer Plan A and either Plan C or Plan F
    • In addition to the two required plans, carriers may choose to offer none, one, or more of the other plans.

See what Medigap plans we offer.

Medigap provides:

  • Coverage for the 20% of costs not paid by Medicare
  • Coverage for your eligible copays and deductibles
  • Coverage for other medical services, like outpatient services

With a Medigap plan, you:

  • Keep your doctors
  • Choose your hospitals
  • Enjoy guaranteed acceptance*
  • Won't worry about referrals
  • Get help paying your deductibles and copays
  • Have predictable costs
  • Fill in all the coverage gaps

*If you have had more than a 63-day break in health coverage, you may be subject to a 90-day waiting period.
