Quality and Performance

The Center of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rates both of Medi-CareFirst's plans – BlueRx Standard (PDP) plan and BlueRx Enhanced (PDP) – for plan quality and performance. This score is a summary of the plans' performance in four categories:

• Drug plan customer service
• Member complaints and staying with the drug plan
• The member experience with the drug plan
• Drug pricing and patient safety

Built-in options to help you save money, and stay healthy

In addition to our national programs, Medi-CareFirst and CareFirst also offer a more localized discount program, called Options, that works with vendors in our area. This program gives you access to discounts on products and services you're already using, as well as opens the door to new opportunities - massage therapy, nutritional counseling, yoga classes - to improve your overall wellness.

We also help you save money by:

• Offering a 90-day supply of maintenance drugs for only two co-pays (rather than three copays if you bought them a month at a time).
• Providing a 34-day supply of drugs for one month.
• Giving you four more days of your prescription than a standard 30-day supply.
• Covering almost all Medicare-approved drugs not available over-the-counter.
• Check our formulary (also called the Drug List) to make sure your prescription is covered
• We accept prescriptions from any doctor, so you may see any doctor you wish
• In addition to our national network of more than 64,000 pharmacies, we also have a large regional network of more than 1,400 pharmacies
• Offering a free Medication Therapy Management program to help you get the most benefit from your drugs. A specially trained pharmacist provides:
• A Comprehensive Medication Check-up to review your drugs, identify duplications or potential interactions, and help organize your medication schedule.
• Advice on selecting over-the-counter medicines when needed
• A review of all new drugs that you start taking
• A follow-up call to make sure you are not having problems with any new drug
